Description

Use metal type and magnewium plates to create foiled text and images. Use a vintage foiling machine to foil onto paper and card. Add foiled elements to prints and cards ascertaining foil temperature and correct pressure. Registration of foiling will also be demonstrated.

This is an introductory workshop and is offered as a 1-day workshop for 2, 3 or 4 participants. Some letterpress experience would be beneficial.

Fee includes gst, a light lunch (vegetarian options) and materials kit: use of metal type and vintage blocks, metallic foils, papers for letterpress, and general printing materials. If you want to foil print your own line art/type you will need to have a magnesium plate made prior to the workshop. I can provide the details to get this done.
