Description
A random dot screen (also known as an aquatint screen) creates tonality in the shadow/black areas of a film positive used in photopolymer printmaking. The random dot screen has a matte and a shiny side. The matte or emulsion side is placed towards the plate surface. The random dot screen can be used as the first or second exposure. With correct exposures of the film positive and the RDS, the delicate greys print beautifully and the shadow areas of an image print dark and velvety instead of washing away.
This random dot screen is an imagesetter film, and 80% black.
