There are many ways you can visit and work at Agave Print Studio. We can individually tailor your time in the studio with options for specialist tuition or collaboration or a creative fun experience. Beginners with an urge to explore a print process are welcome, as are experienced printmakers and artists wanting to edition prints or collaborate to make fine art prints. One-day adventures are offered as well as residencies over days or weeks.
Or you can use the spacious bedroom upstairs with its big window and natural light for creative writing or focused sessions on thesis editing. The room has a work desk with reading lamp, powerpoints for laptops and garden views. You are close to the Wombat Forest for walks to clear your mind and stretch your legs, and there are great shops and cafes only a few minutes walk away.
For printmaking residencies the studio downstairs offers a wonderful studio space, with large windows, excellent light and professional printmaking facilities for intaglio and relief printmaking and letterpress printing.
Trentham is about 1.5 hour’s drive from Melbourne, and there is a V-Line train from Southern Cross Station to Woodend Station where you can be collected. See the Accommodation page for information on staying at Agave Print Studio. There is a range of AirBnB options in Trentham and surrounds.

Creative retreat for beginners
A creative retreat to try something new! Perhaps introductory print techniques such as linoblock printing, embossing/line drawing photopolymer prints, botanical and line drawing cyanotypes, metal plate etching. Your choice! Make a suggestion!
Consider taking a forest walk at the end of the day and stay over if you want.
$300 per person inc tuition, materials, light lunch, tea & coffee. Bring a friend and discover your choice of print possibilities.

Access printmaking retreat
Experienced printmaker/s might want to leave the city behind and work in a wonderful studio with rural views and nearby village shops and cafes. No tuition is included but there is a studio awareness and safe work orientation session on your first day.
$50 per person per day, which includes some consumables. Maximum 2 printing in the studio. Print artists to bring plates, printmaking papers, inks, tarlatan etc.

Printmaking access with tuition
Come to the hamlet of Trentham and have a creative printmaking experience at Agave Print Studio. Create your own schedule. 1-2 hours tuition or demonstrations or feedback per day and the rest of the time you can work in peace without distractions at your own pace.
$50 studio access per day, which includes some consumables.
$100 per hour one-to-one tuition. Print artists to bring plates, printmaking papers, inks, tarlatan etc.

Printmaking collaborations
An opportunity to work with master printer Dianne Longley, exploring techniques that best suit your printmaking series or project. Dianne works mainly with photopolymer water-wash plates but she can also work with linoblock prints or woodcuts, letterpress, and etched metal plates.
$550 per day includes a day of collaboration and some consumables. Print artists to bring plates, printmaking papers, inks, tarlatan etc.
