Chine collé is a technique to add background colour to an intaglio print. You can also add colour elements with washes or pencils to the Japanese paper. The addition of gold leaf to the chine collé paper gives lustre as well.

The emphasis of the workshop is on understanding the variables involved. When working with the chine collé technique there are numerous considerations. You will produce a small A6  intaglio photopolymer plate and then experiment with a range of chine collé variations.
