Explore the versatility of printmaking with photopolymer plates. The plates are exposed with UV light either in a contact frame in the sun or in a UV exposure unit. On day-one create an embossing/relief plate which will be printed blind (without ink) and then with transparent ink. On day-two create an intaglio plate using a drawing on drafting film. Discover the amazing sculptural quality of the relief embossing and the fine detail  and diverse tonalities possible with intaglio prints using photopolymer plates. The plates are exposed with UV light either in a UV exposure unit or in a contact frame in sunlight. The plates are washed out in tap water and the washout residue is soluble in water and can be diffused in the watercourse.

This is an introductory workshop and is offered as a 2-day workshop for 2, 3 or 4 participants.

This workshop explores both relief and intaglio printmaking using photopolymer plates, no previous experience necessary.

Fee includes light lunch and all materials: $520  Materials kit of 2 x A6 Printight KM95 photopolymer plates, test plate, printmaking paper usually Somerset, Japanese paper for relief printing, and general printmaking materials.
Minimum 2 participants.  Maximum 4 participants. Lunch in Covid-safe outdoor area, in beautiful garden setting.
